Hurricane Laura has been growing by the hour. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has classified this life-threatening storm as a Category 4 storm with reported winds near 140 mph. If it makes landfall at high tide like experts are forecasting, the storm surge alone will cause unsurvivable, catastrophic damage along the Texas-Louisiana coastline.

That’s why Convoy of Hope has already deployed our Disaster Services team ahead of the storm. Power outages could cause food and water shortages, so our fleet of trucks are pre-positioning themselves in the Dallas area to respond as soon as the storm passes. As our fleet heads for Texas, please know that we couldn’t respond without faithful partners like you.

COVID-19 has offered up its own set of unique challenges when it comes to responding to a disaster. We have been distributing food and relief supplies to communities all around the U.S. since mid-March in response to the pandemic. That means our inventory is at the lowest point it has been in a long time.

But God has always provided through our incredible network of partners and supporters.

Can you help provide kits?

This impending response has significantly depleted our inventory of baby care, cleanup, and hygiene kits, but your church can help. When disaster strikes, basic essentials — such as diapers, cleaning supplies, and toothbrushes — make a huge difference in the lives of survivors. We would be so grateful if your church could help provide these kits.

With God’s help and supporters like you, we can make an eternal difference in the lives of those who will be affected by Hurricane Laura. We have to act quickly, though. This storm isn’t waiting for anyone.

If you are willing to make kits needed for Hurricane relief, please follow these instructions listed below in the link attached.

These kits are for Hygiene Products and Baby Care Kits.

Other products that will be loaded into semi-trucks at the West Florida Office (Open Air Tabernacle). Items needed are:

  • Cleaning Supplies
  • Tarps
  • Work Gloves
  • Canned Goods
  • Snack Foods
  • Feminine Hygiene Products
  • We DO NOT WANT: WATER OR COLD PRODUCTS

When you deliver these supplies to the open air tabernacle, please place them in the labeled containers that will be set up to load into the tractor trailer. This will save us a ton of labor.
