GENERAL QUESTIONS

  • What is Summer Camp?

    Every summer West Florida Ministry Network offers 2 camps for teenagers and 2 camps for kids. These camps provide a fun time designed to help students have a deep encounter with God. The 3-night, all-inclusive experience includes all meals, special guest communicators, premier worship, and numerous activities. Each day features services, team competitions, free time, small group sessions, great activities (such as paddle boards, paintball, river boat rides, archery, the blob and more) and snack shack visits. Including free gatorade throughout the day to stay hydrated. 

  • Who can attend summer camp?

    • Students entering 2nd-5th grade.
    • Current 5th grade graduates or through age 12 can attend kids camp again if parents feel more comfortable. 
    • Leaders, also known as staff assistants, must be 21 years old with an approved DCF Level 2 Live Scan Background Screen on file with the West Florida Ministry Network Camping Program. Leaders can be as young as 19 with approval from the West Florida Youth Department. Students age 16+ are allowed to attend as an assistant to the group leader or can apply for our Camp Intern Crew.
  • Are visitors allowed at summer camp?

    For the safety of all campers and leaders, WFYouth & Kids Summer Camp is a closed camp; visitors are not permitted unless preapproved by the West Florida Network Youth & Kids Department Director. This includes all individuals not registered for attendance during that week of camp, such as students, and parents. Assemblies of God lead/senior pastors are permitted to visit, but must check in with the West Florida Camp Director, or Assistant Camp Director. According to the state of Florida, all leaders (18 or older) on Camp Realife property must have an approved Level 2 Background Check registered with West Florida Ministry Network under the Department of Children and Families (DCF). 

  • Where is Summer Camp Located?

    Camp Realife Blue Springs is located at 2650 Lakeshore Drive, Marianna, FL 32446.

  • When does camp start and end?

    • Check-in starts at 2PM and closes at 4PM on day 1 of camp.
    • Arriving later may disrupt the schedule, and students might miss orientation.
    • Summer Camp ends at 10 AM on either Wednesday morning for Camp 1 or Saturday morning for Camp 2.
  • Is there childcare?

    • No, there is no childcare at summer camp. 
    • Bringing small children to camp is not recommended but allowed as long as your students still have proper supervision. Leaders wishing to bring small children may share a bed with their biological children or foster/adopted children. Should that child require their own bed and be able to eat all meals the camp provides, they must pay full leader registration fee to participate in the camp with their parent/guardian.  
  • Can I join the camp crew?

    • Camp Crew members must be 16+ years old.
    • Interested individuals must complete the application on the WFKids Camp website.
    • WFKids Camp seeks hard-working individuals passionate about serving with a good attitude and teachable spirit.
  • What happens if my child gets hurt at camp?

    WFKids Camp prays that everyone at camp has a great experience and returns home without any injuries.


    Nurse Requirements:

    • WFYouth & Kids Camps provide medical staff at least at the paramedic level. They will manage all medications for ALL students and leaders as well as provide any medical care if needed. They will make the call for an ambulance should one be needed as well.  
  • How do I contact summer camp if I have a question?

  • What forms must I bring to the camp check-in?

    At camp check-in, ensure all students and leaders have registered with the online registration form:

    • The online form has Consent & Agreement Forms (Required for every person attending the camp) included.
    • Medical Release Forms: They are included as well on the online registration form.
    • If your student needs to keep a rescue inhaler or epi-pen on their person, please provide those in the original packaging/containers with a copy of their prescription if it’s not printed on the packaging. 
    • All medications your student is bringing needs to be in their original packaging, properly labeled with dosage and their name. Please place them in a clear ziplock bag with their name and church name on the bag. 
    • They do NOT need to bring any over the counter medications as our camp medic/nurse will already have those for them to take. 
  • What is the price for camp?

    If I paid deposits, when is the final payment due?

    Final payments are typically due at the start of camp. It's essential to adhere to this deadline to secure your group's spots. For exact dates, consult the registration materials or contact the WFYouth office.

  • When is the full/final payment due?

    Full/final payments are due by the start of their camp.

  • How many leaders is my group allowed to bring?

    The number of leaders is based on the number of gender specific kids your group is bringing. We try to adhere to a 5:1 ratio. For every 5 boys, you need 1 male leader. For every 5 girls you need 1 female leader. If you are not able to provide that, we cannot guarantee that all of your group will be roomed together, although we will try. 

  • Do I need to pre-order a shirt or snack shack card?

    Details regarding pre-ordering camp merchandise, such as shirts or snack shack cards, are typically provided during the registration process. Review the registration materials or contact the WFYouth office for specific instructions.

  • Can I drop registration spots?

    Groups are allowed to drop registration spots, but will forfeit the deposits made. If the drop is made within 2 weeks of the start of camp, you may forfeit their total payment. Consult with WFYouth/Kids Director. 

  • When will Drop spots become available?

    Drop spots, or openings due to cancellations, may become available at any time. For information on available spots, contact the WFYouth office directly. Those spots will go to anyone on our overflow list first.

  • If I am a pregnant leader, will I be able to attend camp?

    Pregnant leaders are welcome to attend camp. However, it's essential to consider the camp's physical demands and consult with a healthcare provider beforehand. For specific accommodations or concerns, reach out to the WFYouth office. If you cannot keep up with the physical demands of properly supervising your students, please make sure you have enough leaders attending that can. 

  • When are the registration deadlines?

    Registration deadlines are specified in the camp's registration materials. Typically 3 weeks befor your camps start date. Adhering to these deadlines ensures your group's participation and helps in the overall planning of the camp.

  • What is included in the registration?

    The camp registration fee typically includes:

    • Accommodation: Lodging for the duration of the camp.
    • Meals: All meals from arrival to departure.
    • Activities: Access to all scheduled camp activities and services.

  • What is NOT included in the registration?

    Items typically not included in the registration fee may encompass:

    • Travel Expenses: Transportation to and from the camp.
    • Personal Expenses: Purchases from the snack shack or camp store.
  • Are there any extra expenses?

    • Shack Cards: Each card is $10. The Snack Shack operates on a cashless system, so every attendee will need to purchase a Shack Card. Pre-purchasing these cards is recommended to facilitate faster transactions. We will have extra cards for sale during camp as well if needed. 
    • Merchandise: Additional items will be available for purchase during camp.
  • What is the refund policy?

    • No Refunds: All registration deposits are non-refundable.
    • Pre-Order Purchases: All pre-ordered t-shirts, survival bags, and Shack Cards are non-refundable.

PREPARATION QUESTIONS

  • How do leaders get a DCF Level 2 Background check?

    All leaders aged 18 and older are required to complete a DCF Level 2 Background Check. This process involves fingerprinting and a comprehensive screening to ensure the safety of all campers. Leaders should coordinate with their church's camp coordinator to initiate this process well in advance of camp. This process takes 5-10 days on average for the camp to receive your screening results. 


    DCF Summer Camps Fingerprinting Process

    To schedule a fingerprinting appointment, you or your employees/volunteers may follow these simple instructions:

    1. Visit www.fieldprintflorida.com.
    2. Click the red “Schedule an Appointment” button on the right.
    3. Enter an email address under “New Users/Sign Up” and click the “Sign Up” button. Follow the instructions for creating a Password and Security Question and then click “Sign Up and Continue”.
    4. Select “I know my Fieldprint Code” and enter the code FPWestFLDistCo4131 . You may also select the reason you need to be fingerprinted (FL – DCF/VECHS) and enter the code. At this point, you are ready to enter your demographic information and schedule a fingerprint appointment at the location of your choosing.
    5. At the end of the process, print the Confirmation Page. Take the Confirmation Page with you to your fingerprint appointment, along with two forms of identification. At least one form of ID must be a valid, government issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license.
    6. Please fill out this form to allow us access to your personal information to follow up on your background screening and its results HERE.
  • What are the camp policy and rules?

    By registering for camp, attendees agree to abide by all rules set forth by the West Florida District Council of the Assemblies of God. These policies are designed to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. The camp rules and policies are presented in the online registration form and are signed off on by both parent and student. 

  • Is there a dress code policy?

    Yes, there is a dress code policy in place to promote a respectful and comfortable environment for all participants. Specific guidelines regarding appropriate attire can be found on the camp registration form. 

  • What should I bring with me?

    Campers are encouraged to bring the following items:

    • Clothing: Casual attire suitable for various activities, including t-shirts, shorts, and comfortable footwear.
    • Bedding: Twin-sized sheets, a blanket or sleeping bag, and a pillow.
    • Toiletries: Personal hygiene items such as soap, shampoo, toothbrush, and toothpaste.
    • Towels: Bath and beach towels.
    • Miscellaneous: A reusable water bottle, sunscreen, insect repellent, and any necessary medications.
  • Is there bedding provided at the camp?

    No, campers are responsible for bringing their own bedding, including twin-sized sheets, blankets or sleeping bags, and pillows. Please ensure you pack accordingly to stay comfortable during your stay.

  • How does transportation work?

    Each church is responsible for providing transportation to and from the camp. It's important to coordinate with your church's camp coordinator to arrange travel plans.

CHECK-IN QUESTIONS

  • Where do we park for check-in?

    All vehicles should follow the signs to their appropriate camp (Stillwaters on the east side of property for kids camps and Blue Springs Lodge on the west side of the property for youth camp.) Each side has designated parking and larger buses can find nearby fields to park in. 

  • How will check-in work?

    • Upon arrival, group leaders (unless not attending with a group, then the parent/guardian) will go to the designated check-in area. Follow the on-campus signage. They will check-in and make any final payments and pick up packets for their group. 
    • Any student or leader with medications must also come to the check-in area and turn those medications into the camp medic. So, please keep their ziplock bags with medications in a safe but easily accessible location so they don’t have to unpack their suitcase to find them.
  • Who is responsible for our group?

    Each church is responsible for its group, including transportation and supervision throughout the camp duration unless students are being partnered with other churches and their leaders.

  • Does WFKids provide transportation?

    No, WFKids does not provide transportation. Each church must arrange transportation to and from the camp.

  • Will my group be required to do swim time at the campground?

    • Swim time is an optional activity. Groups can choose whether to participate based on their preferences and schedules. 
    • While swimming in the pool, they will be separated by gender & must have appropriate cover-ups walking to and from the pool area. Lifeguards are provided by Camp Realife. 
    • While swimming in the lake areas, it is a communal time but all students and leaders must have on a life jacket while in the water. Lifeguards are provided by Camp Realife.
